Sunny was born in the hills of northern California, raised in the beauty of the Hawaiian islands and educated within the bustle of Los Angeles. Sunny hails from a large, artistic, multi-cultural family and was immersed in the arts as a child.
At the age of nineteen she signed with her first talent agency and began working as a professional dancer and actress.
As a child Sunny was introduced to meditation, and as a teenager she found yoga; the practice has inspired a lifelong journey and led to the development of her unique and powerful Vedic astrology based yoga practice.
Sunny studied cultural anthropology and photography at Santa Monica College, utilizing both disciplines in her travels through Europe, Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, south and central America, the Mediterranean, south east Asia and India.
Sunny's life has been a confluence of experiences, she has traversed both dark and light chapters, both of
which have deepened her sense of purpose, inspired dedication to artistry and devotion to selfless service.

Sunny has been studying yoga for over 30 years and received her teaching certification in 2016. Her education has included guidance from such masterful instructors as Nancy Gilgoff, Mark St. Pierre, Casey Palmer, Jennifer Lynn and Jorgen Christensen.
In addition to asana, Sunny has pursued a comprehensive understanding of Vedic wisdom, deepening her overall understanding of the yogic path through the study of Vedic Astrology, having received certification as an Ayurvedic astrologer from the American Institute of Vedic Studies. In 2024 Sunny produced short artistic film presentation based upon the wisdom of the lunar mansions.
Sunny has an innate connection with Eastern wisdom, having studied Dzogchen, Aikiddo and Eight Brocade Baduajin Chi Gong. She has also studied somatic/mindful movement, cortical field re-education and integrative bodywork. Sunny has certification in massage therapy from the Heartwood Institute. Her unique synthesis of philosophy and healing arts allows her to offer students a balanced, mindful and inspired yogic experience whether through asana, astrology or ritual.

Sunny has over 40 years of professional training in classical, contemporary, and cultural styles of dance including ballet, west African, Haitian, Congolese, Brazilian, Tahitian, Afro Cuban, jazz, hip hop and contemporary.
Sunny's performance background includes work in films, commercials, music videos, stage and television, in the US and abroad. She has worked with artists such as Michael Bolton, Lenny Kravitz, Paula Abdul, Lionel Ritchie, Melissa Etheridge, Ice Cube, BB King, Jon Secada, Lil Kim, Ben Harper and many others. Sunny has worked on major commercial campaigns for Sony, Mercedes, Sprint, TDK, Honda, Pepsi, M&Ms, Nordstroms, NBC, CBS and Visa.
Sunny's 25+ years of teaching experience includes working with studios, retreats centers and non-profit organizations in Hawaii and California including the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, 18th Street Arts Complex in Los Angeles, Destiny Arts Center in Oakland and the Santa Cruz tannery. Sunny has effectively taught students of all ages and abilities.

In 2010 Sunny contributed her vocal ability at the Phuket Jazz Blues Festival in Thailand,
to raise funds on behalf of the victims of the 2004 tsunami. On the island of Maui Sunny
has organized, performed and facilitated workshops on behalf of Save Darfur and Doctors Without Borders; she has donated her time with various non profit animal rescue
organizations. In 2019 Sunny produced a short film for a girls' orphanage and NGO in Varanasi, India.
